Winter holidays in Rome
Many consider Rome to be the classic summer holiday destination. Sunshine, red wine and late evenings on terraces come to mind. However, Rome is equally beautiful in winter!
One of the biggest benefits of visiting the eternal city during the colder months is that it is less crowded. If you don’t mind wearing a coat instead of shorts while exploring ancient Roman ruins, you’ll enjoy the pleasure of almost empty historic sights and an overall less hectic and busy atmosphere.
If you do a tour with Rex-Tours, we would recommend you explore the neighbourhood around Campo de’ Fiori after your tour. During Christmas season many streets and shops in the centre are decorated with festive lights which creates a very beautiful atmosphere. Especially the streets Via dei Giubbonari and Via dei Balestrari are decked with many lights and make a walk after dark very enjoyable.
Our favourite places to eat in the area include the restaurant La Quercia, who offer a special Christmas menu, and the bakery Monteforte which is specialised in seasonal Roman pastries. Both are in walking distance of the Rex-Tours shop and have been extensively tested by the Rex-Tours team. 😊
The Rex-Tours opening times during the holidays are as follows:
Until the 24th December
26th to 30th December
And again from the 2nd of January daily.
We would be happy to welcome you on one of our Segway or bike tours during the holidays!
See you soon,
Your Rex-Tours team
